P&C ASSOCIATION
President: Leanne Tsekouras
Secretary: Merice Keith & Julie Barber
No school can be a good school and take its proper place
in the community without full parental support and cooperation.
It is only when staff, students and parents have mutual cooperation,
respect and confidence that education becomes vital and worthwhile.
It is important that parents are aware of the school's aims
and philisophy and that teachers should know of parents' attitudes
and aspirations.
Some understanding can be achieved by joining the Parents
and Citizens Association which meets twice each term on a
Monday night. By attending these meetings parents get to know
other parents and will understand the aims and goals of secondary
education. School policy is discussed and reports on school
activities are given. Without the efforts of the P&C Assocation,
Kirrawee High would be ill-equipped as through the voluntary, tax-deductible P&C building fund, it provides the school
with equipment and facilities not supplied by the Department of Education
& Training.
Our P&C Association provides a forum through which school
staff and others can present topics such as accessing Year
11 support structures, using the school library to support
learning, teaching teenagers to drive and mainstreaming of
Vocational Education and Training in the new HSC.
